Embrace My Journey: Transitioning to Substack for 2024

Written on

Chapter 1: The Shift to Substack

Greetings, everyone!

As I mentioned at the close of 2023, I have transitioned the majority of my blogging activities over to Substack. Even though I haven’t published anything on Medium during the initial four months of 2024, I’m thrilled to see that new followers are still joining me here, and I truly appreciate your support.

For those interested in my work, I invite you to follow me on my Substack blog, "The Archetypal Lens." Currently, all my articles—and potentially future podcasts—are available for free, and I welcome comments and discussions.

My aim with this blog is to establish a professional platform as I embark on my "second post-age-50 career" as an astrologer. Since November 2023, I have been enrolled in an online course titled "Ancient Astrology for the Modern Mystic," which enables me to deepen my understanding of this ancient practice. My goal is to utilize this knowledge to serve both others and myself effectively.

Around the 20th of each month, I plan to share a post focused on the upcoming month's astrology. To clarify, I will be aligning my posts with astrological months, not the conventional calendar months. For instance, you can expect titles like "Aries Season 2024 Is Gonna Kick Some Serious Ass" or "Taurus Season 2024 Is Expansive, Revolutionary, and Relaxing." I’m currently working on the upcoming post for Gemini Season.

While I am not making any firm commitments, I also hope to publish an additional article each month. The reason for my hesitance is the time commitment required for my other major project this year: a daily audio journal podcast aptly named The Daily Bryan Podcast, which occupies a significant portion of my creative energy.

Moreover, I find myself in a transitional phase regarding my career. With the academic year shifting in Japan this April and an increase in my teaching load, my schedule has grown busier compared to most of 2023.

You might also discover new content on my less-frequently-used Substack blog, simply titled "Bryan's Substack." This will serve as a space for writings that don’t align with "The Archetypal Lens," as well as more personal reflections. Occasionally, I enjoy exploring topics like baseball, music, or my everyday life, sometimes stepping outside the archetypal lens framework.

That’s the update for now! If you’re curious about my transition from Medium, I’ve previously shared my thoughts in several posts titled "Bye, Bye Medium" (1, 2, and 3), where you can read about my experiences and reasons for the move.

Thank you for your support! You can help by sharing my content, buying me a coffee, connecting with me on Twitter or Facebook, exploring my new blog, listening to my new podcast, The Daily Bryan Podcast, or reading my previous works, including my 2015 novel, "The Teacher and the Tree Man." You can find the novel in its entirety here, segmented into four shorter books (book 1, book 2, book 3, and book 4), or listen to it for free.
